Who is the course for?   BACK

Anyone aged 12 to 18 yrs who have would like a challenge at their own pace.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When and how long will I attend? BACK

You attend on Fridays from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. You can attend either every week throughout term time or just when you can make it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What do I need to join the course? BACK

Enthusiasm and determination! We will teach the rest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What kit do I need? BACK

A tracksuit if you have one, plus a t-shirt, shorts and a waterproof.

You will need trainers good enough to run in.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What about travel to and from the centre? BACK

Normally your school will provide this. But information can be provided on the best available bus/train route and times.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Do I need to have any qualifications? BACK

No. We will teach and prepare you for all the skills  (e.g. First Aid, Health and Safety, Key Skills, Map-reading, Fitness,  etc...) from Levels 1 to 6.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If I decide it's not for me, do I have to stay? BACK

We hope you will, but no, you don't have to stay. The choice is yours whatever you decide.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Is it like school? BACK

No, far from it! Most of the course is run by means of practical exercises that give you the experience of a lifetime. You build up a personal log book documenting your experiences and showing off your new skills, to prove you can really do what you say you can. You will benefit  from highly qualified instructors who have a lot of experience to share.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

How do I know if I am getting better? BACK

Throughout the course we will be measuring your  fitness and other skills with programmes to help you achieve your targets and meet each stage.  On successful completion of each level you will be given a certificate of attainment and invited to try the next level.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What if I have been convicted of a criminal offence? BACK

All cases are treated  individually and in confidence. Where possible, we will try and offer you a place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What if I have taken drugs in the past? BACK

Again, all cases are treated individually and in confidence. Just apply through school to discuss your particular circumstances further.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Do I have to live in a particular area? BACK

No, you can come on the course from anywhere in the North-West.
